Using stark white halls with glowing colors there is a minimal beauty to Antichamber. One room houses great abstract art which changes depending on which way you are looking at it.
There is not much of a story to be found in the game and what there is is pretty convoluted and has the player asking what even happened by the end of the game.
There is no interactive button to control all one needs to do is walk around in order to solve the games puzzles, such as walking over particular tiles or bumping into objects.
The game feature different areas that have completely different feels to them due to the use of architecture and colors. One are may look like a temple and use the color blue a lot while another may use modern architecture of concrete blocks and use the color red a lot. This makes for areas that are not only different in looks but gives a sense of exploration as you never know what will be next.
The music in game is similar to elevator music and the visuals are simple and relaxing, combined it creates an atmosphere that is pretty stress free, which is good as the further one gets the more complicated the game can become.
The player needs to get from point a to point b by fixing glitches in the environment by using a programming language called Null, which allows user manipulation of the environment. Through this manipulation the game focuses on an inventive way of showing 3D representations of the mechanics of programming.
Upon first boot it is quite obvious that the game will take a bit of play to learn, this is made worse by the fact that there is no tutorial. Though the game is in early access, so that may change.
While the 3D programming language in the game doesn't have much scripting or logic in it, it does teach you about how 3D geometry works through concepts like scaling, translating, and transforming objects and vectors.
The central hub of the game is a vast array of dials and switches that are sparsely defined making for a very explorative environments, from there you will go to many different planets that have crazy color designs. While a very solitary title due to no life forms on these planets it gives the player a chance to really absorb the different worlds and their own control panel.
The game allows the player to explore unnamed worlds in order to solve puzzles on them, through this exploration the player gets to visit a vast universe of unexplored planets.
The nature of the game allows for what can become quite boring in that there is little guidance and also little to see making for an experience that can become quite "samey".
