The only browser package which includes a gateway built-in into TOR a network where you can actually browse the web completely anonymously

Privacy. It's fundamental. And this browser has enabled and keeps enabling people to lookup things they don't want their ISP/ government or surveillance marketers to see. And what's better they won't know a thing about what you searched. What is visible to the outside world however is the fact: you make use of TOR and probably the TORBrowser this client / citizen of ours is using TOR to obfuscate his /her traffic (=~anonymize ). I have used it for 10+ years off and on. If used with a quality VPN, It's about as private as you can get for a standard user. It's been very, very easy to use for awhile now. I used to use the advanced one 7+ years ago and you had to go through numerous steps to make it more private. I would just use it every 6 months just so I didn't forget the steps. For brand new users, be aware it is noticeably slower than a standard browser experience and there is no way around that since it hops around 3 times before it reaches you, more if you also use a VPN. I highly recommend for regular website viewing. It's been years since I've used an actual .onion address, the true dark web but when I did, wow was it slow. But cool that the technology exists. I use Brave standard, Beta and Dev build on my Win10 laptop and have been using it more and more lately. I really like that it has Chrome Webstore extension support. Also use it on my iPhone, I like that it has FaceID option. Will make an easier transition away from Chrome as it has been using way too many of my laptops 12gb RAM resources, granted use many browsers at once and other apps. Chrome is usually the one where my HD and CPU is being used A Lot. Unlike Chrome I can run all Brave browsers at the same time and if I close one the other one or ones keep on running and don't all close like Chrome. Just tried out the Brave TOR option tonight really quick and it seemed to work ok, usually use Tor browser on my laptop for this. See More

Backed and supported by Google

Whilst Chrome is based on the open source browser Chromium, Google reviews this code and build on top of it. This means it takes (and contributes to) a number of the benefits of the open source model whilst having the resources, support and investment of a major company. See More

Works great with many extensions

Unlike Firefox, Google Chrome can keep its fast performance regardless of how many extensions are installed. With more than 10 extensions Firefox gets slower and slower in a geometric progression rate. Google Chrome doesn't care how many extensions the user has installed - 3 or 133 it still performs great. Does not hardware accelerate HTML5 video correctly

Chrome is unable to hardware accelerate HTML5 video correctly which makes playing 4k video on laptops a poor experience filled with lag. Though there is a workaround for YouTube in that a plugin can be installed to force Flash playback instead of HTML5, which plays smoothly and has no HW acceleration issues. There's another plugin (h264ify) that will force to use the h.264 codec video if available instead of the VP9 one which is the resource hog. See More

Tweaked Firefox: rather tweak yourself so you KNOW what is tweaked

Great thing about Firefox is that it is highly customizable. And sure, Mozilla can do this for you. But would you not rather know what is tweaked? So you know no data is flowing to Mozilla, so you can be targeted with ads? So you know stuff is configured secure, because you checked it? Convenient is not secure. If you want convenient, why not pick the "secure" Google Chrome? See More
