You can apply the FU rules to any setting or genre you have in mind. Your character stats are only there to help guide an interesting shared story. The system doesn't expect or force you into combat if that's not what you want to play. Any type of obstacle is valid.

Nate does a good job guiding the GM on how to run a successful game where players have narrative agency. The game makes collaborative storytelling easy.

Similar to Fate's aspects, FU uses various descriptors that you can use to guide your character's actions and to help or hinder you when resolving checks. But these descriptors are not nearly as complicated to use as Fate's aspects.

The rulebook for FU is short, and easy to implement. The second edition beta adds much more content, but it's only there for players or GMs who want extra ideas. The system remains simple to use.
