There is a leveling system for the player where the character collects coins to then use on upgrade through fountains. There are two fountains per stage the offer random upgrades in 15 or 100 coin increments.
Parts of the environment in the game can be used against ones enemies, such as spike floor traps, turned over fire pits or even captive NPCs. Utilizing these objects or NPCs adds an extra set of tools to aid in the players fight to reach the end of each level.
TinyKeep is a very difficult game in where enemy swarms will most likely kill the player at some point. Being that the game uses a permadeath mechanic, many retries will need to be played in order to finally get to the end of the game.
