The blender definitely punches above its weight as it can grate almonds into flour, a feat most blenders under $100 can't achieve. It's not as powerful as the high-end stuff that can turn that flour into butter, but it will be capable of handling most everyday assignments.
The blender has presets for batter, ice crush, smoothie, ice cream, whole juice, and soup, but they're represented with unlabeled icons. Figuring which on is which might take some time.
The interface is easy to understand and includes an LCD screen that helps in adjusting the speed and allows setting a timer, while the presets include snow (for crushing ice), mix, blend, liquify and puree.
The blender has a 48 ounce pitcher made of plastic without Bisphenol A, a carbon-based synthetic compound. Notably, the measurement lines on the pitcher are in red as opposed to the more common black color, helping them stand out more. And the pitcher's bottom is rounded helping the contents mix evenly. The lid has a loop that makes it more comfortable to grab it.
