Pros
Pro Mostly stock Android experience
The Moto G runs stock Android (aside from a few Motorola additions) that helps to get the most out of the G's lower spec hardware. Lag and freezing is common in devices without stock Android but the bloatware free software of the G really improves the whole experience.
Pro Decent performance
Moto G has a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU and 1GB of RAM. In day-to-day use the Moto G is responsive and rarely freezes. Launching applications and multitasking is noticeably slower than higher end phones but also quicker than the norm in this price range. The Moto G handles most games very well with few stutters or frame rate drops.
Pro Decent build quality with water repellent coating and customizable design
Moto G has a high quality plastic water repellent casing that has multiple color variations to choose from as well as a choice of alternative flip shell that protects the display. Great for using the phone in humid environments or light rain drizzles and not having to worry about the phone breaking or getting water damage.
Pro Reasonable battery life
Moto G has a 2070 mAh battery that drains in about 6 hours of typical use but does include a battery saver mode that can stretch the phones battery life to about 2 days. For a budget device, to see battery life that can be stretch so far is quite an achievement that can definitely come in handy for those that are away from a charger for large stretches of time.
Pro Impressive 4.5" 720p display
One of the most impressive aspects of the G's display is the resolution with a PPI of 329. Colors are also a positive with decent saturation and accuracy. Viewing angles are also remarkable. The Moto G does not feature any technology to improve outdoor viewability but there are no complaints with brightness. All of this is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Cons
Con Only 8 and 16 GB versions available
The amount of storage available for the Moto G 2014 is only 8GB or 16GB, which is not that much, but it does support SD cards, so at least the storage is expandable. Though for those who plan on only using the built in storage, room will easily run out fast.
Con Unimpressive camera performance
The Moto G uses a 5 megapixel sensor with an LED flash but the overall camera performance is poor. The camera application is quick to take photos but the resulting image quality is poor and the colors are dull. Photos takes with a shaky hand or of even slightly moving objects will result in motion blur. The Moto G also lacks the Quick Capture gesture (twist wrist twice to launch camera from sleep) from the Moto X.
