Cons
Con Client application is very slow and clunky
The application interface looks smart but it is extremely slow when choosing files and folders to back up. It's also inflexible - you can't copy a backup profile and just change a few settings to create, for example, a LAN or cloud backup to match your local backup. You have to choose all the files and folders again, and this takes about 10 seconds per folder you click on. You can't rename a backup that's already configured either. It always takes a few tries and a long time to get the settings right, because there are things you can't change once you've set them up.
Con Monthly subscription locks you out once a month
If you pay monthly for the subscription, the software locks out once a month for a while, displaying the message, "Acronis True Image Subscription has expired. You can only recover your data. All cloud data will be deleted in 29 days." It's not clear how to get back in, even though you have paid for the next month (as their online dashboard shows).
Con Unreliable and uninformative about what went wrong
I have been subscribing to Acronis True Image 2019 for several months now, and my two main backup tasks (one to LAN, one to cloud) have both had issues that leave me with no usable backups. The cloud backup just stopped working one day, and I had to delete and recreate it - meaning another 2 months to build an initial backup, another 2 months without a cloud backup. The LAN backup runs for days then the backup disappears just as it's almost complete - no backup file is created and no activity or error is logged in the application.
Con Downloads / Restore from Cloud Times Out
Acronis expects most users to restore from local copies. Cloud restoration capabilities is far from robust. One has to navigate a file tree to download files in small batches because larger downloads (talking anything more than a few GBs) times out. Major PITA.
