Kid Icarus: Uprising is a third-person on rails shooter for the Nintendo 3DS.
The gameplay consists of air and ground segmeents with the air segments consisting of on rails shooting. The ground segments allow the player more control over the character, but is basically the same in that the player needs to shoot enemies that appear before them.
Pro Worthwhile reboot of a 25 year old franchise
The last real game staring Pit from Kid Icarus was 25 years ago for the NES. Uprising is a new beginning for the game and is done quite well. The gameplay is fun and the story is good, to see a successful reboot of such an old game does not happen that often and is great to see for such a beloved game character.
Con Lacking polish in some areas
The controls can be difficult at times due to having to use the circle pad and a stylus as the same time. There are also segments that have quite a lot of banter that is not integral to the gameplay that breaks up the flow of the game. On top of all of this the level design can be repetitive, while a good game overall these small issues can take away from the experience.
