There is a setting in the game that allows users to change the strobe effects in the game, which may help those that do not enjoy the effects or find them medically dangerous.

The default strobe settings may not suitable for people with a sensitivity for strobe effects. Though this can be changed in the setting to lower how much strobing is going on in the game.

Vocals and different riffs on a guitar may speed up ones ship in the middle of a race, on top of this one must be conscious of what music they choose as some genres may be easier to play to than others.

Depending on the speed/difficulty that is set by the car chosen by the user they can have a slow casual experience or a fast paced hardcore experience is sped up. This is great if a bunch of different players in ones family or group of friends will be playing as well as for when the payer feels like changing up their own experience.

Instead of rhythmically hitting certain blocks to the beat the player is actually tasked with collecting certain blocks on the track in order to create combos for a high score.

There are quite a few new modes included in this game over the original title, which allows for more replayability. Wakeboard is the standout new mode, where players are pulled along and need to collect blocks to fill a grid. There are also developer created modes that offer variations of the core Mono mode.

It is not until a musical track is used that one can look at a leaderboard for it. For those that use niche type music it is annoying to have to use the track first to even see if others are playing it.

Much like classic arcade shooters Symphony plays as a vertical shooter where the goal is to shoot enemies on the board in order to collect powerups and progress. So for those that are fans of this style of game they should enjoy it, much like Space Invaders, but using ones own music.

Overall the game supports most musical filetypes such as MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, WMA (Windows only), AIFF, WV. This means that most peoples musical libraries will be ale to be used in the game, which is convenient.

M4A and AAC are available to be used in the game only through DLC that costs money. While a nice way to get the price down on the game for those that don't use those file formats for their music it may be a pain to have to pay extra for those who's library consists of mainly iTunes music.

The levels are supposed to be reactive to the music being played but more often than not the levels just feel randomly generated and do not show much in the way of being driven by the chosen music.

The game feels a bit more like a proof of concept more than a game, something a game could be built out of but in its current form feels as though it falls short.

Random generation of environments is done depending on what music one uploads to the game, this makes for lasting gameplay due to the endless amount of levels that can be generated.
