The relatively affordable price gets you a Core i5 processor and a GTX 1070 which should provide good overall performance in general gaming as well as VR applications.

Pros
Pro Excellent VR performance for the money
It will run the vast majority of Rift and Vive games without any issues while being a few hundred dollars cheaper than most prebuilt VR-ready PCs.
The savings come mostly as a result of picking an i5 class CPU instead of the more typical i7 class CPU. While an i7 CPU is more powerful, it's overkill for gaming - you would just end up with unused processing power. Further savings are a result of picking the least amount of RAM required to run VR games and choosing a GPU with, currently, the best value for money - the GTX 1070.
A GTX 1070 is enough to ensure a smooth VR experience. In VRMark's Orange Room benchmark test, which is designed to mimic current generation VR experiences, the GPU sustained over 180 fps. That's double the necessary 90 fps for a smooth VR experience.
Pro Unique design
The G11 has a unique and futuristic design that manages to avoid being too on-the-nose. The front panels are flanked by LED strips and the front panel is filled with Mayan-like etchings. The lights all pulse by default, giving the impression that the G11 is a robot or a living, breathing alien relic.
The LED lights can be customized to have any color you want by using Asus' built-in software. You can also control how bright they are or even turn them off completely.
