The straps can be zipped away, giving the bag a slimmer profile (more suitcase-like), and protects the straps from damage.

There are locking zippers on both the main compartment and laptop compartment. The zippers are close enough together that you can use the same lock for both.

Two pockets inside the main compartment are three dimensional, acting as built-in packing cubes.
