Once you get to a certain point, AdVenture Capitalist becomes much more interactive than the average clicker game. You can restart your game and receive "angel investors," which will allow you to buy certain upgrades. The Moon level in particular is one you can constantly re-start and challenge yourself on.
The primary goal of the game is to earn as much money as possible while doing as little as possible. Which in and of itself is quite the comment on the current capitalist system in society. Basically this boils down the system to it base form while keeping a sense of humor about it.
There has been game breaking updates to the game that have wiped players saves and progress. This was never acknowledged by the devs other than rolling back the release.
Something unique to this title is that there are boss battles every 5 stages. This requires that the player is leveled up enough to defeat them thanks to the timer in the boss battle. If the player is not at a good level, they will not be able to beat the boss in the time limit, which means there is a bit of attention that has to be payed to the game in order to make sure ones level is appropriate to advance. Basically more attention has to be payed to leveling in this game than other clickers which makes for more immersion in the game.
While after 15 clicks the game can play itself, the constant goal of improving how many cookies one can click is pretty addictive in that there is always something to be improved upon.
Each upgrade costs more and more cookies to purchase and each hidden upgrade is not made available until you reach the amount of cookies it costs, so no matter if you need 100 cookies to purchase a new Grandma or a trillion to purchase some other tool you will always be left feeling like you just need to reach that next milestone.
Incremental or as some know them "idle" games are not always received well by those looking for something with a bit more skill needed, basically the game will play itself at some point and from that point forward which can be pretty boring. So for those that are not interacting with the game that often (no clicking, no checking in often) it can be less of an interactive title than what some are looking for.
Quite a lot of content is on offer in the game such as an RPG minigame as well as a card collecting game. This ensures there is a lot to discover and do in the game for the player.
Once you start playing, you want to keep building your swarm. It's a simple enough game, but balancing your larvae and meat sources, as well as ensuring you have enough territory for upgrading your larvae spawn rate.
There are a few basic categories of resources - meat, larvae, and territory. All of the units you build and upgrade add to this base resource, which makes it easy to follow. For example, drones harvest you more meat. Queens produce drones on their own, which will in turn supply you with more meat. Once you have 1000 queens and a decent chunk of meat, you can use them to upgrade to a hive which will produce 3 queens each second, which in turn makes more drones, which each gather meat. Any upgraded units trickle down the line, and produce just the basic resource.
The game never ends...your swarm just keeps multiplying. There aren't any good spots to say "OK, I can leave while I'm ahead", or even "There's no coming back from this - it's time to go". You get hooked, and then there goes the rest of your day.
The game is completely text-based, so there's not a lot of eye candy. The most interesting thing to look at are the blue bars, and how they slowly get bigger over time.
A fully black and white game with little detail. While it may be the theme it is going for, there is not much that is visually impressive about this game.
Most clicker games tend to not have very deep mechanics, and this is where Time Clickers shines. The player has to pay attention to where and when they click on the screen, as the clicks are position based. This means you need to pay attention to the game at all times in order to succeed. While most clickers are passive games that require little effort, Time Clickers asks of the player a bit more, which should be appealing to those looking for a clicker with more depth than the rest.
Turn off sound and you may be able to get away with it, otherwise this is a game best played where no one will get offended by overtly sexual gameplay.
The theme of this clicker game is of course communism, where the player tries to build their empire through utilizing potatoes. While you will eventually move on from using potatoes as the main source of income, the fact that such a silly theme exists for a large portion of the game shows off the sense of humor the creators have.
The game can cater to both active and passive players, as it allows you to actively click the girls to increase their attraction, or you can close the game to allow it to gather offline progress.
The game is heavily relying on its cute characters. It offers a variety of girls to pursue, each with different requirements in order to progress in your relationship with them.
The game originally released as a flash game on Kongregate, before getting an 'enhanced' edition release on Steam. So if you invested effort in the web version, you'd have to start over if you wanted to enjoy the extra features in the Steam release. On top of all that, the developer recently announced an adult version with NSFW content, further fragmenting the playerbase.
The game starts off very simple, with basic requirements. However, they grow quickly and steeply, to the point where you really have to invest a lot of effort just to make minute progress.
No matter if you are going hard on the enemies or just trying to have some fun during your free-time, the game has a lot to offer at different game stages. So, when you think you've unlocked all of the content, there is still more- new goals, new mini-games, badges, boosts, however surely a game to spend some time on!
