Pros
Pro Modular bottom port
The bottom 'chin' pops off, and allows the battery to be easily removed, but also allows for modular accessories (LG calls these "friends"). We've seen two modular friends so far - one is a camera grip that adds a shutter button, zoom wheel, video button, and an extra 1,100mAh battery. The second is a Bang & Olufsen branded 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (with dedicated amplifier) that will allow for Hi-Fi audio through the headphone jack included on the accessory.
More friends could be on the way too - LG has said that they are open to third party accessories.
Pro Good camera
The LG G5 has two rear cameras - one is a more traditionally styled 16MP camera, while the other is a 8MP wide-angle camera. The primary 16MP shooter will offer incredible detail, and the secondary 8MP camera will fit much more in the frame than any other smartphone camera would be able. You can swap between them by zooming in/out, or there are features that blend the two together for an ultra-crisp center framed by the background (you can apply filters to the background for even better end-results).
The camera(s) also feature OIS (optical image stabilization - the lens is held steady which allows for clearer pictures, especially in low light) and there's a laser on the back for split second focusing.
Cons
Con New charging port
Old micro USB cables will not work with this device, meaning if you lose or break your cable you will need to buy a new one instead of using an old cable you had lying around. If you need to top up your phone away from home, it will be much harder to find a suitable cable initially.
Con Poor battery life
The idle battery drain of the phone can use up to 20% of the power over the course of the day, and most days it won't last until bedtime without a quick charge during the day - be sure to bring your charger, because it will be hard to find another USB-Type C charger.
At the end of a web browsing battery test, the G5 has 39% left while the Sony Xperia Z5 has 40%, Huawei P9 had 43%, the Galaxy S7 had 48%, and the HTC 10 had 56% left. It did beat the iPhone 6S which only had 22% left.
