Pros
Pro Good performance
Instead of using a current generation budget processor, the OnePlus X uses a high end processor from 2014 which performs better than current budget processors. Specifically, it uses the Snapdragon 801 which was found in the Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, LG G3 and other high end phones from 2014. This is paired with 3GB of RAM, which is a very healthy amount for such a budget-friendly phone.
Pro Notification slider
On the left of the phone is a notification slider. It toggles between Android's 3 notification modes - all, priority, and do not disturb. This is similar to the iPhone's silence switch, and it could be very useful to have as it allows you to switch between the modes without pulling the phone out of your pocket.
Cons
Con Some missing hardware
There is no support for NFC (near field communication) or 5GHz Wi-Fi. For many people the lack of these features won't be a big deal, however NFC allows for more convenient payment and has convenient uses with some appliances (NFC enabled printers for example). The 5GHz Wi-Fi is faster than 2.4GHz, especially when the airwaves are already crowded with a lot of 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (although 5GHz doesn't travel as well through walls or travel as far as 2.4GHz).
