With this app, you learn more about the muscular system by exploring the different muscles and which exercises act on those muscles. It's not specifically set up as a learning resource for anatomy (there are no flashcards, quizzes etc.).
iMuscle 2 explains how an exercise acts on both the primary and secondary muscles. It allows you to select a muscle and see a list of exercises for strengthening and stretching it.
There is a drag and drop feature that allows you to create your own workouts. Because of the ability to see how each exercise will act on specific muscles, this is a great app for creating corrective workout plans.
Because of the coloring and navigation, you can easily find the body part you are looking for or even find the Latin name for it and hear the correct pronunciation.
The UI and hierchy of systems and body parts makes the most sense compared to other anatomy apps. It is name/text based rather than icon which helps in clarity and learning/memorization.
Although there is no app for Mac or Windows nor Linux, the web app which doesn’t require any installs is available in any browser and performs better than other native installs.
Other software requires you to explicitly contact the company if you want to create or use images from the software to share, be it a patient or friends/family member or while teaching (think power point or walking students through a procedure). Biodigital Human explicitly makes sharing of images or 3d model snapshots feature easy legal and effective.
