You can load a VST Instrument plugin directly from your filesystem. It supports most VST and VST2 plugins, both 32-bit and 64-bit. It supports many Linux DAW plugin formats. For instant access, plugins can be placed into your dedicated plugin folder e.g. "C :\Program files\LMMS\Plugins" on Windows.

All windows in the DAW can be moved around freely and are not attached to a grid.

There is a plugin called Xpressive to program a sound wave.
