Pros
Pro War is done the best it can for this type of game
While one of the biggest cons of this game is that it mainly is all about fighting and diplomacy+politics is basically absent, the fighting part is very well done and it's somehow addicting to fight through game-breaking lag and endless wars to finally come out victorious, or to fight till your last stand and know that you tried your best.
Cons
Con Luck is a heavy influencer, and randomness is almost absent
This mainly only appears when you're doing an achievement run or trying to "roleplay" and go for a certain playthrough or objective, and basically this only really occurs at the start of each game. From what I've learned, depending on what country you are, there are a few predetermined focus paths the other main countries follow. That path is determined by RNG, so as you may imagine, you may have to restart your game forever until the AI finally goes down a path that makes the game fun and enjoyable for what you want to do, or what gives you the best chance to succeed at what you want to do. As I mentioned earlier though, there are predetermined focus paths the AI follows. As an example, I've never seen a Democratic Germany in my 552 hours of playing this game. That focus path is completely blocked out by the AI and if you want a democratic Germany, you either sacrifice earning achievements and make the be democratic, or you play Germany yourself and go down the democratic route. After my first 100 hours, which don't get me wrong is a long time, I basically have seen the whole game, so this lack of complete randomness does limit the bad effects of the RNG issue I was talking about earlier, but it also makes the game very repetitive and boring once you get far enough.
