Pros
Pro Overworld
LEGO Marvel Superheroes offers a wide range of side quests to complete in the overworld that seemed to perfect what Lego Batman 2 started but didn't do quite right. The content is there, the city seems alive as if you're playing a GTA or Saints row video game in the LEGO universe, and the sheer attention to detail in the construction of this world makes the perfect display of Manhattan meets LEGO. It's safe to say, you can totally lose yourself for hours playing this game just for its overworld, however what it makes up for with this it lacks in story telling.
Pro Fun two-player couch co-op
Friends and family can play LEGO Marvel Super Heroes together, battling against hordes of enemies in the chaotic two-player co-op mode. The combat is simple and to-the-point for anyone to grasp, so there's a great time to have with all the madness on each level. Although there's no online play, this is still a great game for those looking for fun games with couch co-op.
Pro Character Roster
LMS features a wide range of characters that would leave any fan of the Marvel universe satiated in their search for a game showing off their favorites since they were kids. Each character has a wonderful attention to detail added to them with their powers, costume designs, voice actors, and even the manner in which they're introduced to you through the overworld side quests or the main story line. Just searching for every last character and playing each one to your hearts content through free play mode will have you playing this game for hours on end.
Cons
Con Simplistic repetitive gameplay
Nearly every Lego game plays the same way, can grow tedious after extended playtime.
Con Story
LMS had a decent story for what it's worth, one that anyone would no doubt enjoy, but it doesn't exactly hit the mark like everything else this game has to offer. The story features a strange mash up of the Marvel Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, that when all thrown together didn't exactly leave you awe inspired like some of LEGOs other original stories. Without trying to spoil too much, a lot of this story was hodgepodged together to make the "ultimate" Marvel universe, but if anything it created more of a mediocre experience. While it may sound like something to feel disappointed about, it's still quite an amazing experience and deserves more than 1 playthrough to catch every bit of detail added.
