Con Heavy middle mouse click
The middle mouse click is very hard to press, often times making you scroll, instead of clicking.
Con Potential pinning bug
Changing the surface setting in the app may potentially cause random spinning ingame for a random period of time (usually ~5sec). This has something to do with the surface of the mousepad being used and a particular setting of the mouse. In order to address this issue, you can return the mouse back to its default surface setting.
Con Too heavy for competitive FPS
Most competitive FPS gaming mice aim to weigh under 100 grams. The G502 weighs 121 grams, which can be further increased to 139 grams with extra weights. The increased weight makes it more difficult to move quickly. It also means your hand will get tired quicker.
Con Placement of button on left side of mouse
The button is directly under the user's thumb so when you try to lift the mouse, you would end up pressing the button also.
Con The LED behind the G is really bright (can be disabled though)
The LED backlit G on the back of the mouse can be quite bright in a dark room. For users that do not want to use the application that is necessary (or can't, like say Linux users) the light is unable to be turned off. Of course within the application for the mouse the light may be completely turned off.
Con Only 3 thumb buttons
Not many players realize that thumb- ring finger grip is so crucial for character movement in any fast paced PVP game. With 2 more thumb buttons on Logitech G502 it would be ideal hybrid mouse for any MMO.
Con Can get uncomfortable after long usage due to weight and shape
The mouse weight is already a lot, but for better upward and downward weight distribution, it asks you to insert at least 2 weights in. The shape, however is very much based on hand size and angle preference. Due to its size, it is a bit more comfortable for people with hands larger than the average.
Con Scroll wheel wobbles in free-scroll mode
The free scroll setting has a bit of a wobble in the wheel.
Con Software is Windows-only
LGS (Logitech Gaming Software) does not have Linux or macOS support, so the mouse cannot be tuned or configured under those operating systems. However, if the mouse is configured on a different OS, the configuration will work on Linux and macOS, since the profiles are stored on the mouse itself.
