The Mongoose Legion L60 is a low-end, entry-level bike that's built like a classic freestyle BMX bike. While it has some good specs (like three-piece cranks and sealed bearings), you do get what you pay for with the Mongoose. Don't expect the smaller parts to last forever, but if you're only looking to see if you'll like BMX without investing a lot of money, this may be a good option.

Pros
Pro Great entry level bike
This bike comes with front and back brakes, which gives a more familiar feel before you get used to riding with just the back brake. It also has three-piece cranks, which are more durable and stronger than one-piece cranks, since there's less chance of pedals breaking off when you land after a jump.
Pro Needs less maintenance than similar counterparts
While it's still a low-end bike and you can't expect its parts to last forever, it's still built well enough to save you some time and money on maintenance in the long run. The Mongoose has sealed bearings, which means dirt won't get inside them after each riding session. If dirt can't get in, it can't grind against the balls in the bearings, making the ride smoother than on bikes with loose ball bearings (which have no casing at all). This also means you won't have to thoroughly clean your bike after each ride, and the bearings will last longer than loose-ball bearings.
Pro Good for street riding
The smaller sprocket gives you higher ground clearance for learning to jump on ramps (pegs need to be purchased separtely), and won't get in the way of spinning tricks. The seat is soft, so you can cruise around on it comfortably enough.

Con Needs extra parts for flatlanding
Flatland riding contains a lot of tricks with spinning the front wheel. This bike has a front brake, which is good, but it does not come with a cable detangler. Without a detangler, the brake cables will prevent you from making full turns with the wheel. You'll have to purchase and install one separately before you can even attempt any of those tricks.
Con Not built for racing
The heavier materials used as well as the general build of this bike is not intended for racing. It certainly is good enough if you've never done BMX racing, but for more experienced racers a much lighter bike with a larger sprocket is essential.
Con Harder to control
Most low-end bikes use High Tensile Steel as the main material,thereby adding weight. This might not be a problem for everyone, but smaller riders would benefit from a lighter bike for better control while learning tricks and jumps. At 34 pounds it's definitely not the lightest bike around.
Con Needs assembly
This bike comes in a box, with only the small parts assembled. You will need to attach the front wheel, set up the brakes, and attach the handlebars and the seat. If you run into trouble when assembling it, you can always take it to a mechanic.
Con Will not survive crashes
The Mongoose Legion L60 bike frame is made of High Tensile Steel, which is a heavierl than the more expensive chromoly (used in mid to high end bikes), and it's not as sturdy. The joints in the frame might be prone to cracking, and the fork will likely bend after just one serious crash to the ground.
If you want to learn extreme tricks, consider investing more for your first bike.
