In order to maintain the parts in a good state, you will need to thoroughly clean your bike after each use, or you'll need to replace the original bearings with sealed bearings. The Mongoose has loos- ball bearings, which means that there is no protective casing at all around the balls of the bearings. The welding on the joints of the frame makes it more durable than others at this price point. The frame is 100% high tensile steel, which is not as sturdy as chromoly (a lighter, more durable material used in professional BMX bikes, but also a lot more expensive). This bike comes with front and back brakes, which gives a more familiar feel before you get used to riding with just the back brake. It also has three-piece cranks, which are more durable and stronger than one-piece cranks, since there's less chance of pedals breaking off when you land after a jump. See More
Flatland riding contains a lot of tricks with spinning the front wheel. This bike has a front brake, which is good, but it does not come with a cable detangler. Without a detangler, the brake cables will prevent you from making full turns with the wheel. You'll have to purchase and install one separately before you can even attempt any of those tricks. This might not be a problem for everyone, but smaller riders would benefit from a lighter bike for better control while learning tricks and jumps. The Mongoose Legion L60 bike frame is made of High Tensile Steel, which is a heavierl than the more expensive chromoly (used in mid to high end bikes), and it's not as sturdy. The joints in the frame might be prone to cracking, and the fork will likely bend after just one serious crash to the ground. This bike allows for quick acceleration with its 25T by 9T sprocket, so it'll be good for street riding or jumping on ramps in skateparks. The smaller sprocket size also gives higher ground clearance, so you can do tricks on ramps.
