Pros
Pro Great performance
The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 got a very high 3D Mark Firestrike score of 12,401. In QHD(2560x1440) the card scored 6,123. Any card that scores over 10,000 in FHD and 5,000 in QHD, should be able to play most games in these resolutions with a decent FPS.
As we see it holds out in game. Rise of the Tomb Raider runs at an average of 78 FPS in FHD and 52 FPS in QHD. This is a decent result and gives you a nice and smooth running game. Though of course the final game performance depends on the rest of your setup aswell.
Pro Good for VR
VRMark test is used to test VR performance of graphics cards. The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 scored 7,671 points in the test. For a comparison, one of the competitors of this card, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming 6 GB scored 7,197. Sapphires RX 480 scored 7,274.
The card is definitely suitable for Virtual Reality gaming today. Although, VR games are rapidly advancing and in the future the card might not be able to run many of the games properly.
Cons
Con Not much of an upgrade performance-wise
Comparing the cards performance to Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ 8gb, we see an ingame improvement of less than than 5 FPS. The average FPS of Rise of Tomb Raider improved by 4 in FHD and 2 in QHD. If you have an RX 480 card in your box, the upgrade is not worth it. Though, if you happen to be running something older, the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 is a great card to upgrade to.
