Pro Great performance
The laptop has a GeForce GTX 970M GPU with 3DMark's 1920x1080 Fire Strike Standard Graphics benchmarks showing a score of 7440. As of March, 2015 it's the second best mobile graphics card. Still, it should be noted that the 980M is about 25% faster than the 970M with an average score of 9774.
In the real world, GTX 970M allows running Evolve, Shadow of Mordor, Battlefield 4, on ultra at 51, 52, 55 fps on average respectively.
It also has an i7-4710HQ CPU with PassMark's score of 7,956. As of March, 2015 the top laptop CPU has a PassMark score of 10,087. As such the i7-4710HQ is a strong choice.
The machine can be configured to have 16, 24, and 32 GB of DDR3L RAM, but anything past 16 GB is overkill for gaming.
The laptop has 1TB of HDD and a 256 GB SSD can be added on top of that. The laptop can also be bought with an empty SSD bay instead of the 256 GB SSD for $100 less where a custom SSD can be installed. Files read from SSD will load quicker so it's recommended for the operating system and software or games that are run regularly or can take advantage of the quicker load times.
Pro Comfortable, responsive backlit keyboard and good touchpad
The keyboard is angled, making it comfortable to use.
It has 5 additional keys added at the top-left corner. One is for launching ShadowPlay, one for launching Steam's Big Picture mode and remaining three can be mapped to anything. And one additional key is added to the numpad that accesses Game Center.
There's also red backlighting with three brightness options.
A large 5x2" touchpad is is responsive and automatically disables when a mouse is plugged in.
