You can control it without getting up
You don't even have to get up to turn it on/off, change the speed, or set a timer. This can all be done with the remote control from 15 feet away, even from another room.

The lifespan is relatively short
This is a cheaper option, so you shouldn't be surprised if it starts acting up after about a year of using it. It has a 12-month warranty, so getting it repaired or replaced isn't a big problem.

Suitable for small spaces
This fan takes less than 1 square foot of space, you should have no problem fitting it in a small room. The airflow will still be able to reach all corners of the room because it oscillates.

It's best not to leave alone with pets
If you have a dog running around the house, it could relatively easily knock the fan over. You could either set some sort of a barrier or just keep the room with the fan closed.

It works quietly
The noise from this fan is somewhere under 68 dB, comparable to a restaurant ambiance. It may not be quiet enough to fall asleep easily, but you should be able to concentrate on your work or studies.

It's hard to clean
To thoroughly clean this fan you will have to disassemble it, which is a big chore.

It's a great option for pet owners
The fan is very stable, and you would have to push it really hard to knock it over. if you have dogs in the house, for example, you can leave them alone with it without worry.

It can get loud
On the high-speed settings, you can clearly hear distinct rattling noises coming from the fan. It will make it hard to fall asleep or concentrate on your homework.

Very good warranty coverage
The fan has a 5-year warranty, which is much longer than the 1-year coverage the vast majority of fans come with. Chances are, you will run into some problems during five years, and it's great to know that you can always get your fan fixed or replaced.

It's hard to clean
It accumulates quite a lot of dust inside over time, so you will want to occasionally disassemble the fan and clean it with a cloth.

Airflow covers a large area
The Vornado is designed to ensure air circulation in a large room, it can push air up to 100 ft. away. It has a unique spiraling shape that lets it circulate the air across the whole room without oscillating like a typical fan.

It's a hefty investment
Although this fan performs very well, it's much more expensive than most alternatives. You could get pretty similar results from a fan that costs up to five times less.

It's one of the best fans to put in your bedroom
This fan has one of the lowest noise levels, about 61 dB, which is about as loud as a background music or a conversation. If you put it in your bedroom, it won't disturb your sleep while cooling down the room.

The remote only seems to work when you perfectly align it with the base of the Dyson fan. You definitely won't be able to turn it off from another room.

Great combination of price, size, and airflow
The Vornado 630 is an objectively very powerful fan. What makes it stand out even more that it's quite small and inexpensive. It's a compact air circulator that compares and often outmatches tall tower fans and unstable oscillating fans in terms of airflow and also costs less.

•••
It's noisier than other fans
The Vornado 630 makes about 60 dB of noise on the highest speed setting, which is comparable with a full-on AC. It is not the loudest fan out there by far, but if you want a fan that you could leave on while you're sleeping, it would probably be a good idea to look specifically for fans that produce around 50 dB of noise.

You can use it in a large room
You can put this fan in a large room and it will easily recirculate the air. Unlike many rotating fans that produce a fairly weak air stream and rely on oscillation to cover more area, the Vornado 630 creates a strong yet smooth stream that pushes the air around the whole room.

It's a little bit basic
Although the fan is great by itself, it does lack some more convenient features that a lot of alternatives in this price range have. For example, it doesn't come with a remote, or an auto turn-off timer.
