Thanks to the two chamber design you can multitask with the composter. Start your compost on one of the chambers and as soon as you see the matter decayed and cured you can start adding your scraps into the second area. By the time you have used all the compost from the first side, the second side will be ready and vice versa.
Since the side panels are removable, it’s very easy to clean. Just use a water hose to wash the inside of the composter, dry everything out and put the panel back.
Because of the regulated ventilation and heating mechanism, the first batch of compost will be ready in a month or two, while other methods can take as much as 6 months.
Since there are no worms or any other living creature involved you have to pay very little attention to the bin. The only thing you need to do is to rotate the chamber every couple of days.
Since there is rotting involved, expect that the area around the composter will smell. You can reduce that however by adding yard clippings or paper to the mix.
The Worm Factory 360 comes with all the materials and accessories necessary to start your worm farm, except for food scraps and worms. The included guide explains about all the materials and what and how much to include in the bedding mix.
In order to start using this composter you don’t need to have any previous experience. It comes with an easy to understand instruction guide and a DVD that explains how to properly take care of the worms. There’s even a coupon included with you can order a batch of worms.
Thanks to the stackable system, it is easy to harvest the ready material. The worms by nature search for food going up so, if the bottom tray has the compost ready, just put food for the worms on the upper trays and they will crawl up, leaving the bottom tray with the ready material.
This composter can’t be expanded horizontally to increase the population of the worms and the output. The output rate should be enough for a small household garden but if you are a serious gardener better look elsewhere.
Since the composting process is being done by worms you have to keep an eye on how healthy the worms are if you want to get excellent composting material and they don't die out.
On top of the bin there is a large opening where you can dispose all of your leftovers and other stuff. And underneath the bin there are four doors from where you can access the ready compost material easily with a shovel.
There’s almost no assembly required as everything is made from plastic, snaps together and there are only few parts. Expect about 10-15 minutes assembly time.
