Pros
Pro Record and save meetings
You have the option to record your calls and save them to your computer or send them to the cloud storage, as either video with audio (mp4) or audio-only (mp3) files, right from within Zoom without need of another program. Recordings can also be paused and resumed as needed.
Pro Works well even on low-bandwith cellular / mobile connections
Works more-than-acceptably well on 3G or 4G cellular/mobile connections - with more consistent call quality and fewer dropouts than Skype.

Pro Free account is pretty generous
Zoom offers a full-featured Basic Plan for free with unlimited meetings. Try Zoom for as long as you like - there is no trial period. The free plan lets you hold 1-to-1 meetings which are unlimited in number or duration, and to host group meetings with up to 100 participants. Group meetings are limited to 40mins on the free account, but if you really don't want to pay, you could always start another meeting for a further 40mins, etc.
Pro Compliant with European Union's General Data Protection Regulation
Pro Support for a wide variety of operating systems / devices
Unlike Facetime (Apple devices only), Zoom actively support every operating system a person is likely to use, meaning you can communicate with virtually anyone regardless of what system they happen to use. Unlike most of their competitors, they actively maintain a Linux version with near-full feature parity with the Windows version, and they report that several of their own developers use Linux.
