Pros
Pro Fun team-based combat
Battlefront has fast-paced action and large scale battles between The Empire and the Rebels. There's a lot of shooting involved, so expect to see a flurry of laser beams overhead constantly.
Most of the battles involve taking or holding a location from the opposing side. You can move around on foot or jump using your jetpack, which is useful for scaling walls and hills. You can enter various vehicles such as the AT-AT walker, which makes for great fun.
When you die, you'll respawn after a short delay. This causes it to become a tug-of-war where one side slowly overpowers the other.
Pro Recreates many beautiful movie-like locations
Fight against the Empire or the Rebels in beautiful locations from the films, and visited and recreated by the developers: Hoth, Jakku, Endor and Tatooine.
Pro Split-screen co-op
During a current trend to leave out this feature, Battlefront includes local co-op where you and a friend can fight off waves of imperial troops and walkers. This mode is also available online as well.
Pro Iconic Star Wars characters featured
Play as favorite classic Star Wars characters. Luke, Han, Leia, Boba Fett, Darth Vader and the Emperor are all there.
Pro Gameplay is similar to the original games
The gameplay of Battlefront follows closely with the style of the original games, with fast-paced action and large scale battles for the fate of the galaxy.
Pro Deep weapon customization allows for plenty of choice in how you would like to play
This game features a good weapon customization system. The only downside is that this can lead to a certain level of grindiness – but not too much.
Pro Awesome pixel art by Paul Robertson shows off a very polished game
If you don’t know Paul Robertson, check him out. From Adult Swim animations and dozens of video games to feature films such as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Paul Robertson has quite the catalog of really great pixel animations and graphics.
Pro Great game for those who like Metal Slug
Mercenary Kings is the spiritual sequel to Metal Slug: a two-dimensional, pixel-based, side-scrolling action shooter with co-op multiplayer.
Pro Online or local co-op multiplayer, up to 4 players
Mercenary Kings offers local or online co-op for up to four players.
Cons
Con No campaign
There is no single-player campaign; and it seems there never will be. No rich story to go with our current generation Star Wars shooter. Only limited Co-op missions fighting off waves of enemies.
Con Expensive season pass
While some DLC has been free so far, like the Battle of Jakku; EA and DICE set a pricy amount of $50 for the season pass, bringing the total cost to over $100 just to purchase the game and season pass at face value.
Con Controls need to be tighter
Pressing down to shoot does not always fire at once, meaning missed opportunities. After a while this can become quite a nuisance.
