Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pros
Pro Great organization of anatomy
The UI and hierchy of systems and body parts makes the most sense compared to other anatomy apps. It is name/text based rather than icon which helps in clarity and learning/memorization.
Pro Sharing friendly
Other software requires you to explicitly contact the company if you want to create or use images from the software to share, be it a patient or friends/family member or while teaching (think power point or walking students through a procedure). Biodigital Human explicitly makes sharing of images or 3d model snapshots feature easy legal and effective.
Cons
Con Only extreme black or white backgrounds available
Competitors like 3d4medical applications have a nice neutral grey vignetting background option. In general, more control and options for the background (and in general) would be much appreciated.
Con No easy way to adjust controls since there are no user settings
There should be user configurable settings but there are none. If one wants to change them to something different it will require using a hotkey program and setting up a profile specifically for each of the visible body line of applications.
That being said, the control bindings are shown in a downloadable PDF on the visible body support website.
Con Not really a con due to availability of web app, but no native desktop client
Although there is no app for Mac or Windows nor Linux, the web app which doesn’t require any installs is available in any browser and performs better than other native installs.
Con Subscription model for Premium
$48 annual subscription ($4 / month).
