There's been a lot of effort put in this project through the years, there is no question about it. It's 100% free and it's very user-friendly, but it being based on Ubuntu 16.04 isn't the best thing, as you are working with software that still is actual but the versions are not the newest.

Gets all the advantages of Arch, like package availability, latest software, etc.
Pro Preconfigured
Mate desktop is preinstalled and ready to use.

Cons
Con Avoid proprietary-only GPU drivers
GPUs without libre drivers are a problem (not fault of Trisquel, of course). Also Wi-Fi cards in the same vein.
Con Will not boot in multi-distro grub.
Con Support is not as maintained as "Official Releases of Manjaro"
Not as actively maintained as "KDE" or "XFCE" or "Gnome" editions since they are official releases and "Mate" is just a community spin-off of Manjaro that may be discontinued altogether.
Con Rolling release
Latest software may break the system.
