When comparing EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW GAMING vs MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC GDDR5 6GB Dual Fan OC, the Slant community recommends MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC GDDR5 6GB Dual Fan OC for most people. In the question“What are the best budget gaming graphics cards under $250?” MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC GDDR5 6GB Dual Fan OC is ranked 3rd while EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW GAMING is ranked 4th. The most important reason people chose MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC GDDR5 6GB Dual Fan OC is:
The sound production is also fairly low with a Twin Frozr IV card. [As seen here](http://videocardz.com/review/msi-geforce-gtx-1060-6gt-oc), the maximum sound production under load is around 39 decibels (A) from 100 cm distance and 60% fan speed. 39 decibels is considered to be fairly quiet, and annoying noises such as coil whine aren't present in this card either. It is the loudest GTX 1060 card, but it is still pretty quiet and shouldn't cause much disturbance.

Pros
Pro Excellent factory overclock
The standard base clock for a GTX 960 is 1127 MHz, but XFX has factory overclocked the GTX 960 to 1304 MHz, which is a major 16% increase.
Pro Very silent operation
The fans of the EVGA ACX 2.0 cooler won't spin until a temperature of 63 degrees Celsius is reached, which results in an inaudible graphics card in idle situations. During load, the fan speed will reach a maximum of 31% which is experienced as silent.
Pro Excellent overclocking potential
The GTX 960 chip overclocks very well and overclock results of over 20% aren't uncommon. Overclocking allows you to increase the clock speeds of your GPU for increased performance.
Pro Ideal for 1080p gaming
The GTX 960 holds up well in gaming benchmarks with a 1080p resolution and all games are perfectly playable. Some of the more recent titles may require you to to use medium settings, but overall 1080p performance is good. For example, Metro Last Light runs at an average of 56.1 frames per second with maximum details.
Pro Low power consumption
The EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW GAMING requires a single 6-pin PCIe power connector and is decently energy efficient. In non-gaming situations, maximum consumption is measured at about 9 watts while the maximum power usage during full load is 140 watts. Compared to its predecessor - the GTX 760 - that's a 21% improvement.
Pro Fairly quiet even when stressed under a full load
The sound production is also fairly low with a Twin Frozr IV card. As seen here, the maximum sound production under load is around 39 decibels (A) from 100 cm distance and 60% fan speed. 39 decibels is considered to be fairly quiet, and annoying noises such as coil whine aren't present in this card either. It is the loudest GTX 1060 card, but it is still pretty quiet and shouldn't cause much disturbance.
Pro Performs slightly better than a reference GTX 1060
The MSI GeForce 6GT OC has been slightly overlocked to a base clock of 1544 MHz, which is a 38 MHz over a reference GTX 1060. The boost clock of the graphics card has also been given a slight boost: 1759 MHz compared to the standard 1708 MHz. This is still lower than any other GTX 1060 card (other than the Founders Edition which is the reference design).
Pro Excellent cooling prevents the graphics card from throttling
This MSI GTX 1060 uses a Twin Frozr IV cooler, identical to the coolers used on MSI's GAMING series of GPU's. These coolers perform excellently and offer significantly more cooling than any other GTX 1060 (except the Asus GTX 1060 Strix OC Edition which cools equally as well). It remains 15 degrees Celsius cooler than the Founders Edition, and 11 degrees cooler than the EVGA card.
Pro Should fit in any chassis
At roughly 25cm in length, it's smaller than most GTX 1060 cards on the market so it should fit in any decent sized chassis without any problem.
Pro Good headroom for overclocking
The 4 power phases + 1 for memory and the 6-pin power connector give quite a good headroom for overclocking, especially for a GTX 1060 card.
Cons
Con Previous generation chip
The GTX 960 chip has been around for a while, and both NVIDIA and AMD are introducing new mid-range graphics cards in the remainder of 2016. It's only a matter of time before a new graphics card debuts with increased performance and the same price tag, such as the RX 480 by AMD.
Con Memory hasn't been overclocked
Despite the excellent GPU clock boost provided by the FTW GAMING Edition, EVGA has decided not to overclock the memory of the graphics card as well. This is a missed opportunity to further increase performance.
Con Less DisplayPort connectors than a reference GTX 1060
The GTX 1060 6GT from MSI only features a single DisplayPort, HDMI-port and DVI-D connector. A reference GTX 1060 offers three DisplayPort connectors. This can be an issue for people who plan on using multiple DisplayPort monitors.
