Pros
Pro Gore galore
Very satisfying and brutal fighting mechanic.
Pro Hideo Kojima's touch is present
The humor of the game is perfectly fit to it's ridiculousness.
Pro It is a great standalone title
While bearing the name Metal Gear, the game itself is a completely different experience in a positive way!
Pro Non-stop action
Furi is a really fast-paced game and it never slows down during the boss battles. You'll be constantly dodging, shooting, parying, slashing and dashing across the boss arena. All this together with the invigorating electronic soundtrack will get your blood pumping.
Pro Each character is done very well
The characters designed by Takashi Okazaki (creator of Afro Samurai) fit Furi’s cyberpunk themed world really well. Each one has a great background and unique style of art that really meshes with their fighting style. On top of that, the levels designs reflect each boss character’s personal hell, further adding to their characterization.
Pro A boss battles-only game
You'll have to immediately learn all mechanics such as dodging, parrying, and attacking to beat them. From there on it's all about noticing patterns and maximizing the time you spend attacking. You also need to consider your positioning at all times and carefully plan your movements. All of this is more difficult because you have to do it a breakneck speed. When you finally manage to beat a boss it feels like an accomplishment.
Cons
Con It can get really ridiculous at times
It definitely is a more humorous title, so if you want something that takes itself seriously then better choose a different game.
Con Very steep difficulty curve
Furi starts out easy, teaching you the various mechanics to beat the bosses. When the tutorial fight's over, each new battle gets increasingly more difficult. Bosses have more health, more phases, more abilities, and more patterns you have to memorize. You can set the difficulty to "Promenade", which makes it a lot easier, but will prevent you from earning any trophies.
