Pros
Pro Fluid movement
Unlike a lot of Vive games that rely on teleportation, Onward has fluid locomotion using the gamepad. This makes the gameplay a lot more realistic, especially given it's a multiplayer military sim.
Pro Very realistic military sim
Everything from the sounds, how you reload and fire your weapon to the graphic for the map all come together to create a highly realistic and immersive military simulation. It's like ARMA in VR.
Pro Great communication
The built-in mic on the Vive makes team communication a key component of this game. It's also very realistic as it's just how a military squad would communicate over radio.
Pro Neat game mechanics
In one of the modes, the two teams have to paint the ground ahead of them to advance. Teams can teleport (this is the game's movement system) only onto paint of their team color in this mode.
You can equip a short-range paint gun at the cost of having another weapon, so it's a matter of prioritising the objective. Controlling more paint on the field lets your team go closer to the front lines, where better cover and the objective is for that map, but you're vulnerable standing out in the open painting.
Pro Variety of maps and modes
Trippy anti-gravity upside-down maps, king of the hill modes, kill the core, etc.
Pro Active devs
Regular updates, community interaction on subreddit, etc.
Pro Fun gameplay
Cons
Con Population not always the best
Can find a match at peak times easily but otherwise not too good.
Con Very dated graphics
Graphics are a work in progress, but currently not that good.
