Epson Home Cinema 5040UB vs AAXA P300

When playing 4K content, this Epson has an amazingly detailed picture. 5040UB uses pixel-shifting, which approximates the image of a native 4K projector. It does not produce an actual 4K picture like a 4K projector does, but it makes the content look much sharper than 1080p.

The 5040UB is bright, at around 2500 color brightness and 2500 white brightness, thanks to its 3LCD technology. It has vibrant colors and a bright picture and an outstanding contrast ratio of 1 000 000:1.
Though the number is boosted by the dynamic iris (regulates light output actively), the native contrast ratio is still 4600:1, ensuring a detailed picture also during darker movie scenes.

Exceptional set-up features ensure the picture is always in line with the screen. Powered lens position with 10 presets give you different settings to choose from. Motorized focus, 2.1x zoom, and ultra wide lens shift let you set up the projector easily. The picture is easy to position on the screen.

The fans on 5040UB can be just a bit noisy in performance mode. In ECO mode they produce only 20dB of noise, which is barely noticeable.

The input lag on this Epson is only 30.8 milliseconds, beating most of its rivals. If you want to use your projector for gaming, 5040UB is the best option.

Like all LCD projectors, the Epson 5040UB will not show you any rainbow effects.

The projector is usable even when there is no power supply provided. Though its worth mentioning that you only get 160 lumens of brightness (half of the maximum) when running the projector on battery. The battery lasts for about an hour, which should be enough in case you need to give a short presentation with no power outlet available.

AAXA P300 is extremely light, weighing only 0.97 lb, making it easy to carry around. It is also very small in size, only 1.5 x 5.9 x 3.8 inches, making sure it will fit in a suitcase.

The LED light source lasts much longer than regular projectors, estimated at around 15000 hours. Technically, the lamp will not need changing for the next 10 years, if you use the projector for 4-5 hours a day.

It has a throw distance of 5-12 feet and an image size of 50.5-121.3 inches. You can place the projector close to the screen in a small presentation room and get a decent image with the size of a large TV.

As a business projector, AAXA P300 is bright enough to be usable in presentation rooms with ambient light, in fact it is one of the brightest portable projectors out there.

It has many inputs like HDMI, VGA, MicroSD, USB and AV, making sure the presentation is not delayed due to connection issues.
