MBS Colt 90 vs MBS Comp 95

It’s easy to learn tricks with this board because of its short length.

The Colt 90 uses a skateboarding style truck system with a 12 mm axle. Compared to other skateboard style trucks, these are beefier and stronger, so they are good not only for beginners, but also for advanced riders.

This board uses standard velcro bindings which, in most cases, are fine for beginners They’re simple to use, and you can add heel straps for a firmer hold. If the standard offering isn’t enough, you can upgrade them to better ones.

The Colt 90's maple wood deck has a symmetrical concave shape that provides better locking when compared to conventionally-shaped boards. The board’s slightly curved middle section contributes to a stiffer deck and easier rail slides.

By default, the board comes without a braking system, but you can get a compatible braking kit for a fairly low price. It can be easily mounted on the board and uses many parts that are common to bicycle V-brakes, so it’s also cheap and easy to maintain it.

Unlike other budget mountainboards, the Colt 90 uses very good tires. They’re very light, puncture-resistant and very fast. Also, you can easily upgrade to 9 inch tires, without changing the hubs, for better traction and durability.

The included bearings are rubber shielded, preventing dust particles from degrading them.

Besides its standard version, the Comp 95 had an “X” version that comes with a braking system.

This board features the Matrix II channel truck system, one of the most advanced trucks from MBS. Its especially designed plastic truck top and CroMoly 12mm axles makes it light and, at the same time, very strong and solid. This enables riders to perform even the most extreme tricks with confidence.

This board's 95 cm length makes it very stable at high speeds, but compact enough for pulling off tricks.

For high comfort and stability, the Comp 95's deck has an asymmetrical concave shape, which puts less pressure on rider's heels and helps lock one's feet on the deck.

This baords deck uses a Powerlam layup that combines maple and fiberglass. The result is a flexible yet strong deck that allows the deck to withstand a lot of pressure when performing tricks and rail slides and eliminates worries about durability.

The binding's padding uses dual density memory foam, for increased comfort and durability.

Integrated heel strap mounts lets you add and remove heel straps quickly and conveniently.

This longboard uses F5 adjustable ratchet straps, with additional second level adjustment. This helps adjust the bindings precisely for each individual foot. Foot release is easy and quick, thanks to the cleverly designed ratchet buckle release.

This board's hubs are made from plastic and have fantastic durability, being second only to heavier, and more expensive, aluminum hubs.

The Comp 95 uses the ShockBlock suspension system, which is much lighter than traditional spring shocks. Additionally, it offers a very wide and independent heel and toe resistance adjustment range, so you can fine tune it for high speed carving or freestyle riding.

Thanks to the flat grinding surface on this board's axles, rail grinding is quite easy.

The 95cm length of the Comp 95's deck means it suitable both for teenagers and adults.

The center of the Comp 95' deck has an arched chamber, which adds stiffness and makes rail slides easier.

Even though this board's deck has a 30-degree angled tip, which is best suited for channel trucks, it’s possible to mount it with skate trucks.
