All heroes start with a few preset abilities that are intuitive and easy to use, making the game easy to jump into for newer players. By participating in battles and building out your city, you will gain access to various resources that can be used to expand the talents of your heroes.
Since there's such a large variety of talents, two players playing as the same hero may have completely different builds. This allows for a lot of experimentation, and since most builds are viable, you don't have to worry about making a bad choice and can simply let your creativity run wild.
During gameplay itself, nothing is too overpowered or underpowered, resulting in a talent setups that are balanced and feel fluid. All spells and abilities work well and compliment each other in a way that some other MOBAs fail to achieve.

Controlling and gaining benefits from certain areas of the map through the native terrain feature adds an exciting new strategic element to gameplay that isn't seen in other MOBAs.
Scattered around the PvP maps are flagpoles that can be captured by either team. Once captured, the area around the flag becomes your team's 'native terrain'.
When you're standing on your own native terrain, you get buffs and other special abilities such as being able to teleport to any section of your terrain, damage modifiers on spells and abilities, summoning better pets, and being able to run faster. These buffs vary based on which hero you're playing, and are different for each and every hero in the game.

Prime World is one of the only MOBA games to allow the player to choose a faction - either the Dokht Imperium or the Keepers of Adornia. The buildings and heroes on both sides have their own unique artstyle, but they are otherwise perfect mirrors of each other, so you will never feel like you missed out on a specific hero or playstyle due to your choice. It's a purely aesthetic choice, therefore remaining balanced and fair due to everything being equal on both sides.
By playing one faction or the other, you will see the overarching story from different viewpoints, as well as choose teammates from your faction while facing off against the other. Since the faction choice is permanent, this gives players a chance to become attached to their faction and bond with teammates over their choice, while building a rivalry with the other. Rather than simply sharing a map with a mix of random players like most MOBAs, you and your teammates will consist of and represent your chosen faction as you fight for dominance.
Pro City building gives you something to do while you wait in queue
While you're waiting for your 5v5 or 3v3 queue, you can build and customize a city with various buildings that provides benefits to your heroes and produces the resources used to buy new heroes and even craft some new talents.
The castle in your city is tied to your account and has it's own experience system. It levels up when you participate in the game's various activities like winning battles and completing quests.
It's rather simplistic, but it offers a nice distraction while you're waiting to get into the action, and adds a little bit of flavor to the game.

Con Reconnect system
It's extraordinarily difficult and frustrating to reconnect to a game in Heroes if you disconnect for any reason. Reconnecting players can't simply "pick up where they left off", they have to simulate everything that has happened in the game between the moment they disconnected and the present time, which causes the reconnecting process to be extra slow and occasionally impossible.

The average Heroes of the Storm player is less informed about the mechanics and basic strategies of the game compared to the average player of other MOBA games. This is due to a variety of reasons, like the popularity of Quick Match and the relative lack of learning resources both in-game and out because the game isn't like other MOBAs so people bring the wrong knowledge and expectations to this game.

The whole game mechanics are terrible: the fact there's no in-game currency ironically make the game heavily focused on farming (due to levels being an extremely important factor to win battles), there are no strategies you can use since objectives have a big impact on the game, so basically you end up just repeating cycles of farming/objective. Last but not least, the game balance is horrible, since skills were directly based on Blizzard's universe and without any adjustments to make characters unique or to create synergies with other characters or specific strategies. It's basically an oversimplified version of every MOBA out there.

Since Heroes was designed to be more team-centric rather than individual players carrying games, games can often feel beyond your control. For example, ranked games can often feel like a coin flip of which side gets lucky and avoids players prone to tilting or toxicity.

Blizzard keeps adding new heroes that get more and more mobility and defense by default. These new heroes are not fun to play against and the trend only seems to get worse.

In any of the matchmaking queues, the chance of being put against someone with much higher skill than yourself is very high. The ranking system goes in this order: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster. On multiple occasions, silver players have been placed against an entire team of Grandmasters with bronze allies, leading to very poor experience.
Getting new heroes for free takes too long. Buying new heroes can be expensive.
Con Individual skin quality has dipped in exchange for numerous mediocre skins
Gone are the days of high-quality skins with cool spell effects and amazing visuals. What was once a dime-a-dozen, skins of actual "worth buying" quality now come once every 6 months or so, as the game's conversion to "2.0" switched their skin philosophy from QUALITY to QUANTITY.

As with most team-based games, this means that if a player chooses to solo queue, that it may be difficult to play and coordinate with the rest of your team. The game does provide chat and a ping system similar to other MOBAs.
Con Lack of good talent diversity
Compared to the flexibility of an item system, the talent system limits the number of ways you can build a hero. The talent system is often structured so that there are 1-2 primary builds which usually focus on empowering one of the heroes basic abilities, and then a handful of niche talents. This causes a hero to feel very much the same every time you play it.

You can get a bad player to your team, and he or she is able to ruin your match with some bad decisions, intentionally or not because XP sharing hurts the whole team in that way.

Sci-fi characters (Starcraft) and fantasy characters (Warcraft, Diablo, etc) exist in the same time and place for no real reason other than to fight each other.

Many matches are very similar one to another in the competitive game mode where the meta game has a higher influence.

Heroes inflict little damage to each other, which has the potential to make fights seem long. On top of this when one falls behind many of their skills will become useless making for a fight that one is delegated to a support role, which will also add to the slow feeling of a fight.
Con Clunky camera movement
The way the camera moves makes it difficult to follow your hero. Update: there is an option to switch Camera off.
Con No checkpoints in single player challenge missions
If you die at any point during the single player challenge missions, you will have to start the entire challenge over. There are no checkpoints and many of these clock in at over 30 minutes. This can be insanely frustrating when you die near the end.
Con Voice acting is poor
The heroes will constantly shout cliche lines when using their abilities such as, "You'll be seeing stars!". Even with the cheesy dialogue aside, the lines aren't delivered with much emphasis or conviction behind them so they lack any kind of power or feeling.
The quest dialogue from NPCs isn't much better. Most of the voices are either flat and devoid of emotion, or completely overacting to the point of it being silly or disruptive to focusing on the game.
Con The heroes are very plain looking
Although there are some exceptions, a majority of the playable heroes are rather boring and unexciting visually. There's not much in the way of epic looking armor, and they appear somewhat generic and bland as if they could have been plucked out of any rehashed fantasy game.
