Pro Beautiful design with great build quality
With a black aluminum body not only is the device a pleasure to look at but is also has a strong build quality.
Pro Plays nice with Linux
With a bit of preperation, such as turning off fastboot and making sure Bios are fully update, installing Linux is not that difficult. Once installed even the touchscreen works, as long as the latest Kernel is installed.
Pro Well space keyboard
Being that the device has a large body a full sized keyboard is able to fit without any compromises. While the device itself is shallow the keys have a good bit of travel to them.
Pro Native lossless audio support
The Samsung ATIV Book 9 2014 has native 24-bit, 192kHz audio built into the device. For those that only have FLAC or ALAC libraries, music on the go will be a pleasure.

9 hours battery life, nuff said.
Pro Great value for money
Pro Reasonable performance
UX305 comes in 2 CPU configurations (0.8 GHz M 5Y10 that can be overclocked to 2GHz or 1.2 GHz M 5Y71 that can be overclocked to 2.9 Ghz), has an Intel HD Graphics 5300 GPU and options of 4 and 8 GB of RAM. While it won't be enough for gaming, it provides enough power for most office and development tasks. For example, the base model is capable of streaming an 1080p video without stutter.
Pro 10-hour battery life
The 1080p laptop drains the battery in about 10h of typical use while the QHD display reduces that time by about 2h.
Pro Reasonable matte screen
UX305FA offers two options for screens - FHD (1920x1080px) and QHD+ (3200x1800px). Both are IPS displays that offer great viewing angles.
Pro USB charging port
You can charge your phone, etc, from the dedicated USB charging port, even when the laptop is sleeping. By default, it will only keep charging while the laptop battery is above 20%.
Con High price for what the internals are
While the materials use in the device justify the high price the lack of CPU and GPU power in comparison to similar notebooks feels as though performance was cut.
Con Lower resolution screen that its predecessor
The screen resolution has been lowered from the previous model for some reason.
Con Trackpad sticks
While being large and mostly accurate the trackpad does stick some.
Con Keyboard is not backlit
Con Only 8GB RAM
8GB RAM is way too little these days (becoming completely hopeless if you happen to need VMs).
Con Poor color accuracy
According to tests performed by NotebookCheck.net, UX305FA has color accuracy issues that can be seen with the naked eye. A DeltaE deviation of over 3 can be easily noticed and the screen has a deviation of 6.5.
