Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pros
Pro Automatically activates required fonts
Pro Works on Macs and PCs
Pro Free
Pro Installation from custom folder without copying to system folder
It's good to separate system fonts and user fonts, but Windows doesn't support it by default. NexusFont helps to manage big collections.
Pro Good for sorting poorly named font files into folders
Pro Super fast
It can browse thousands of fonts instantly. Fontbase and Suitcase are nowhere near it.
Pro Easy to install and uninstall fonts as needed
Cons
Con Steep cost on upgrades
Expensive price to pay for a license the user has already paid for. Aside from being a standalone Digital Asset Management (DAM) tool focused on fonts, it's highly used purely as plugins for Adobe products (which are similarly also well known for high cost licensing & upgrades) .
Con Current version UI is terrible, not for designers
Con Apparently stopped in development
Con Organizing fonts is awkward
Con Scanning fonts on start up
Takes FOREVER.
Con Windows only
NexusFont is not available for macOS or Linux.
Con Good features, could get better with automation
The program is good for moving font files, but it would save me time if this could be automated, for instance, it would be nice to be able to automatically sort font files into folders based on family.
