Galaxy on Fire 2 HD has included in-app purchases that range from $0.99 - $51.82 per item. However, for the base game, which is free, you don't actually have to make any purchases at all. Same for any of the expansions you choose to purchase, which aren't that expensive at all. They add entirely new stories to the game and all of them are under $7 each. There is a combo of Valkyrie & Supernova which is about $9 but it's two expansions not just 1. Any other in-game purchases are completely optional. You don't need them to enjoy the game.
