Cons
Con Side button customization is lacking
There is currently no way to setup a three button layout on the side (short of turning off three buttons in a six button setup). There is also no large buttons included, which means when using a button setup lower than twelve the buttons will still be the same size even though there is room to have less buttons that are larger. For the selling point to be customization of the mouse there really should have been optional larger buttons included in the kit to allow for easier button presses on low button setups.
Con Not an ideal mouse for large hands
The Kone Pure Optical is quite a rather small mouse, suitable for people with small and medium-sized hands. Someone with larger-than-average hands will most likely be very uncomfortable using this mouse.
Con High lift off distance
The Roccat Kone Pure Optical has a higher than average lift off distance of 3mm, though it can be lowered in software (Advanced Settings tab) or with the tape trick.
