Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pro Successful heir to the original game
Though not the pretties game to look at, the art style and direction make for a game that resembles the original quite successfully. More modern looks could have easily detracted from the game and its terroir.
Pro Large party size
The game starts out with four user created or pre-made characters that then allows 3 more to be added later in the game for a total of seven. The large party size allows for plenty of player choice and customization of their team, in order to fit anyones play style or particular play scenarios.
Pro Gigantic openworld
Pro Immersive story
The dialogue of the game is very intriguing as well as voiced superbly making for a very immersive experience as far as story is concerned. It is through the care the developers took to implement such realistic writing and voice work that makes the game so intriguing and an experience to play.
Pro Plays at 1080p
The PS4 version of Wild Hunt plays at a native 1080p.
Con Gameplay feels a bit rigid
While there are a few points where a p[layer can choose to use unintended actions, more often than not a set skill has to be used on set items in order to interact with them. Sadly this leaves little room for experimental gameplay or use of imagination to try for unintended circumstances.
Con Poor performance
With a frame rate capped at 30fps that often dips below as well as glitches in the "loading areas", Witcher does not perform as expected for a next gen release that is priced at full retail of $60.
Con Story feels like a chore
Most quests feel like a chore in that it is basically fetch quests in exchange for information to advance the story. While this is often a mechanic found in games to keep the gameplay long it does get tiresome.
