Pros
Pro Plenty of loot
Dungeon Quest offers different tiers of loot in game that ranges from common to rare to epic, making for an enjoyable looting system that the player will endlessly keep playing to find a rarer item.
Pro Simplified genre gameplay
The gameplay of Dungeon Quest is distilled down to the basics, there are no huge skill set lists or large branching weapon lists as Dungeon Quest keeps everything very straightforward and intuitive.
Pro Playable in small chunks
Mobile games are great for playing for just a new minutes here and there, and Reaper works exactly like that. If you've only got 5 minutes, you can still enjoy it. Some mobile RPGs need plenty of time to get into the mood and enjoy, which isn't always possible on mobile.
Pro Full game content unlock in app purchase
There are three in app purchases with the last one being a full game content unlock at $4.99.
Pro Controller support
Reaper supports HID game controllers including MOGA, Nvidea and NYKO.
Pro Colorful backgrounds and character models
The graphics exude a lot of personality and attention to detail.
Pro Great touch screen controls
There are two options for touch screen controls, one being swipe based and the other being directional buttons.
Cons
Con Advertisements during gameplay sequences
There are large advertisements that pop up throughout the games menus and even right before boss fights.
Con In app purchases
Any free to play game needs a way to make money and Dungeon Quest is no different. There are many items that one can purchase that are not too egregious such as cosmetic items like pets, but considering many of the in app purchases are temporary stat boosts and potions and only there as way to make the game easier, one has to wonder if the game was designed to be unfairly balanced in order to earn more money.
While Dungeon Quests in app purchases do not go as high as some games (ranging from $0.99-$19.99) the highest priced is still for in game currency that can be purchased over and over again, in turn making the cost of this game essentially limitless.
Con Doesn't have much longevity
The entire game is based around combat, which works in small doses. For longer playtimes though, it can get pretty repetitive. That goes for the extra content unlocked through the in-app purchase as well - it's more of the same in new levels.
Con Free gameplay is limited to ten levels
The gameplay is free up to the tenth level, at that point an in app purchase has to be made of which there are three depending on how much content you want. $3 unlocks the rest of the levels, while $4 nets you more in-game items, and $5 gets you everything available as well as the Dark Harvest game mode.
