Hey there, thanks for contributing! Unfortunately, I flagged this one since it's better to have one general idea per pro, so editing and commenting will be easier and more clear for others. Also all of these points have already been covered in other pros. Hope you don't mind and thanks again!
It's not "quite" lightweight if someone looks at RAM consumption, and it's definitely not lighter than Ubuntu unless you shut down all visual effects, which will kill all the beauty.
Have you checked Deepin 15.8? Starting from Deepin 15.7 it has started to become lighter than before.First, I had checked the website. It claimed that it is now lighter than Ubuntu. Then, I checked it by myself. I installed both Ubuntu and Deepin. From my experience, I can now tell that it is lighter than Ubuntu.https://www.deepin.org/en/2018/08/21/deepin-15-7-enjoy-the-better-performance/
I'm marking this as duplicate and leaving the original as it is.
Hey! Unless you got different sources, all the spyware references I can find about deepin point to this post in which the issue was discussed and the conclusion was that it is intrusive but it is just run-of-the mill traffic analytics, but not spyware per-se. Have there been other incidents? Do you have more concrete or up to date information about this?
Can you please explain how is that a pro?
Not a good pro.
Can you please explain what you meant by that?
From ImpartialAchlys:This has been improved. Budgie is now very customizeable.Additionally, a MATE version and a Gnome version are available
Hey there, thanks for contributing! Unfortunately, I flagged this one as a duplicate, since there is already a an identical con, and this one probably got accidentally submitted from the "other suggested pros" list. Hope you don't mind and thanks again!
Hey, thanks for all the contributions :-)
Hope you don't mind, I edited this to remove the first-person phrasing as we prefer second- or third-person phrasing in pros & cons. You can read more about that here if you're curious.
