The oil, being a formulation of extracts obtained from lavender flowers, linalool, and linalyl aldehyde, carries antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, calming, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties. Its ingredients and properties, make it an appropriate remedy for treating the itchiness related to eczema.
Lavender oil can be applied on the affected area in various ways, including, preparation of own homemade eczema cream by mixing lavender oil with shea butter and coconut oil. You can even apply few drops (one or two) of undiluted lavender oil few times in a day until your affected area is healed.
The oil is not recommended for children, however, if still needed to be applied using the dilute form of it.
