What are the best lightweight tools for collaboratively keeping track of requirements for software projects that support versioning?

Good point, but I think Git frontend/clients are acceptable as options. It's still Git at the core and it seems more practical (generally) to include those as options instead of just "Git".

The question is a bit confusing though, not sure if requirements tracking means tracking dependencies, or feature/user requirements, etc.
