Hi! There's already an existing con on how Windows 10 collects user data, but I do think what you said is useful and important so I added it as a comment. I also edited the first person part. If you're curious, you can take a look at Slant's writing guide here. I found a lot of tips there and I hope you'll it helpful too.

I have Windows 10 and thanks to your post, I'm now aware of this unwanted feature. I appreciate you sharing this bit of info. :)

From Holo Deck@ssf: Collects your data. On a fresh install all collection services are enabled by default but there is also another issue that I had this on about 5 Microsoft Accounts(You know that Account that is needed to use the most Windows 10 features, like sync etc.), I created them and they worked for 1-5 Days after that time they get looked and Microsoft wants my Phone Number to send me a SMS code. Also it must be frustrating if you dont own a cell phone since there is no other way to unlock your account.

Hey thanks for adding this.. I can agree that Windows 7's simplicity makes it one of the best OSs so far. Have you tried Windows 10 though? I think it has great design as well :)

Cascanding menus is possible in Start, but creating/modifying them isn't readily apparent. Right-click on a regular Windows app (not a Metro/universal app), select the More submenu, and choose Open File Location. Unlike in Windows 7, where it would take you to the .exe location, Windows 10 will take you to the Start Menu folder, either in your user profile, or in C:\ProgramData. Once there, you can create folders and move shortcuts into them, etc to create the hierarchy you want.

Hmm, that's interesting. Tried it out and it takes me to my local AppData folder. That's good to know, thank you! It's too bad it's relatively complicated, though.

@LeoTM, hey just a heads up, descriptions and titles can not be c/p content, so I have gone ahead and removed it from this description. For future knowledge we actually have a style guide (a bit hidden I know) that you can take a look at.

Hey, I am afraid this question does not fit Slant's style guide. Maybe we can change this to be a comparison between different Windows versions?
