The font you use in iA Writer is monospaced and unattractive. It might be fine for a programmer, but most authors are going to find issue with it. Sure, you can format the finished product, but while writing, you're stuck with the droll, 90s techie vibe that just doesn't suit most styles of writing. See More
iA Writer has some amazing features along with some not-so-great ones. The iOS version is atrociously expensive at $49.99, and you still have to buy it separately for Mac and Windows for an additional charge. The syntax features are amazing. Focus/typewriter mode is fantastic. But being locked into such an old-school basic font and appearance isn't going to sit well with many creatives (including writers). If that price got me a universal license and the ability to change my font (even with only three basic options, one mono (as is), one serif, and one sans), I'd be 100% on-board, maybe even for life. I loved the improvements iA Writer brought to my writing, but I just cannot recommend it at its current price point in this state. See More
