Hey, it might be best to break this question down a bit. That way the options can be compared against one another. Also, there already are questions on frameworks (microframeworks, package based, full-stack), wrappers (stream wrapper libraries) and a bunch of other questions about PHP libraries. Hope that helps. :)

Hi, thanks for the response! What I'm specifically looking for are libs that make interacting with (preferably MySQL) databases easier, such as MeekroDB (http://meekro.com/), Medoo (http://medoo.in/), Zebra_Database (http://stefangabos.ro/php-libraries/zebra-database/) etc. The reason I framed the question rather generally was that these are all labelled differently - library, framework and wrapper respectively, and I'm not really sure how the difference between these terms matters in terms of the intended use of these "extensions".

How would you have framed the question differently? There are currently no questions regarding database as far as I could find.

Ohhh, I'm so sorry, I skipped over the word "database" in the question. Your question makes total sense. I've unflagged it. Sorry for messing this up. :(
