Thanks! yeah, i was hoping to find a site that would match a sound effect i heard in a commercial (hence the shazam part). but i think a list like this would help as well.

Oh, I understand what you meant now. I don't think such a site exists for sound effects(I've seen a lot of them for music though). You will probably just have to be creative. Figure out what sound that was, find the same thing/find something similar and edit it. I've actually recorded effects myself - it's a fun activity.
Hey! Great question. I don't think Shazam is meant for sound effects, but there are special sites for that. I added the one that I use for YT videos and videogame development.
I also edited the question a little. It's a very good question, so I made sure it's in a simple format so everyone could find it easily.
