Pro Same quality for about half the size
Images saved in the WebP format have roughly the same quality as a JPEG image at about half the size.
Cons
Con Garbage format
Ultra compression algorithm destroys any traces of quality...is another google emanation...is not a copy of an image not even a preview or thumb is just a luke-like representation of the original image...destroys color profile and outlines look horrible... avoid this if you have respect for quality.
Con Not widely supported
Only has native support in Chrome and Opera.
