These two things are the biggest advantage of Reaper. No other DAW can beat it based on CPU efficiency. Some people say Reaper isn't a professional DAW by look, but it's not true. Reaper is a full-featured professional DAW. You can do anything whatever you want for music production. The price is also reasonable. They are even generous with the evaluation policy. If they offer the simple and intuitive version, I'll be back to Reaper. See More
If you are submitting files to a publisher, MusicXML format can be read by the big engraving programs: Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore, etc. Often there are some display issues that will need to be tweaked when using MusicXML between different programs, but publishers will spend a lot of time tweaking the file anyhow. Using it to transcribe my own 'real book' as I get into building my jazz comp guitar skills again. A lot easier than I expected... Some clunkiness in positinion notations (chord shapes/labels) which I'm future proofing ( I am BAD at remembering all of the possible inversions of a chord - so I'm transcribing the chord fingerboard diagram as well as the notes on the staves - so I can pick up the actual inversion / styling to use in each case) See More
Because you can import and export MusicXML you can transfer your scores from other notation programs into ScoreCloud, or create them in ScoreCloud and send MusicXML to friends or publishers that use MusicXML.
